1. About This Policy

Dothatshi (registered name: Dothatshi, operated as Dothatshi!) is a commitment contract platform that enables users to set personal goals, participate in contracts, and commit money to their completion. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user.

By using the Dothatshi platform at https://staging.dothatshi.com or our related domains (dothatshi.in, dothatshi.online), you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

• Full name
• Email address
• Phone number
• Display name chosen during onboarding
• Password (stored in encrypted form; plain-text passwords are never stored)

Financial Information

• Payment method details processed through our payment gateway partner
• UPI ID when provided for deposits or payouts
• Bank account number, IFSC code, and account holder name when provided for withdrawals or payout verification
• Transaction history including deposits, commitments, withdrawals, and refunds
• Wallet balance and commitment activity

We do not store full card numbers or banking credentials on our servers. Payment data is handled by our payment processing partners. UPI IDs are stored to process transactions and facilitate refunds. Bank account details (account number, IFSC, account holder name) are stored to process withdrawals and complete payment gateway verification.

• Contracts you create, join, or complete
• Follow and follower relationships
• Content you post including contract descriptions and updates
• Notification preferences and interaction history
• Referee verdicts you submit and your referee reliability score

Referee Data

• Platform Referee activity: verdicts submitted, reliability score, and reward history
• Guest Referee data: name and email address provided during invitation, verdict submitted, and timestamp
• Guest Referee verdict data is stored to maintain contract integrity and audit trails

Technical Data

• Device type, browser, and operating system (in general terms)
• IP address and approximate location
• Session tokens and authentication identifiers
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your Dothatshi account
• To operate contract creation, commitment processing, and outcome resolution
• To process payments, commitment transactions, and refunds
• To facilitate the referee system: inviting referees, recording verdicts, and calculating rewards
• To send OTP codes and transactional communications
• To send platform notifications based on your preferences
• To prevent fraud, detect abuse, and enforce platform policies
• To comply with legal and regulatory obligations
• To improve and develop the platform through aggregate usage analysis
• To respond to your support requests

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to any third party, ever.

We work with carefully selected third-party service providers to operate the platform, including cloud infrastructure, payment processing, and communication services. These providers are bound by data processing agreements and are only permitted to use your data to provide their specific service to us.

We do not disclose the names of our infrastructure providers in this policy as a standard security practice. If you have a specific data-related request, contact us at support@dothatshi.com.

We may disclose your information to law enforcement or government authorities if required by applicable Indian law, court order, or to protect the safety and rights of our users and the platform.

5. Payment Data Security

Deposits to your Dothatshi wallet are processed via UPI bank transfer or our integrated payment gateway. For UPI payments, we collect and store your UPI ID to process the deposit and facilitate refunds. We do not store card numbers, CVV codes, or net banking credentials. Payment gateway transactions flow directly between you and our payment processor under an encrypted connection.

When you request a withdrawal, we collect your bank account number, IFSC code, and account holder name. These details are shared with our payment gateway partner to verify the account belongs to you before funds are released. This is our payment gateway's TPV (Third Party Verification) requirement. We do not use your bank account details for any purpose beyond processing your withdrawal and completing that verification.

In the event of a security incident affecting payment data, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities in accordance with applicable Indian law and RBI guidelines.

6. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how our platform is used at an aggregate level.

Types of cookies we use

• Essential cookies: required for login, security, and platform functionality
• Preference cookies: remember your settings across sessions
• Analytics cookies: help us understand platform usage at an aggregate level, not individually

You can manage or disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies will affect your ability to use the platform.

7. Your Rights

As a user of Dothatshi, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Deletion: request deletion of your account via Settings > Delete Account. Account deletion deactivates your account immediately and hides your profile from other users. Some data is retained as described in section 8.
• Portability: request your data in a portable, machine-readable format
• Objection: object to certain uses of your personal data

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as required to provide our services.

If you request account deletion, your account is deactivated immediately and your profile is hidden from other users. Some data is retained beyond deactivation:

• Transaction records and wallet history are preserved for the period required by Indian financial regulations and tax law.
• Records of contracts you participated in (commitment terms, participants, outcomes, payouts) are preserved on the contracts themselves, so other participants' history and ledger integrity stay intact.
• Records of administrator actions on your account (such as a refund or override) are preserved for accountability under our internal audit-log retention policy.
• Guest Referee data (name, email, verdict records) is retained for the duration of the associated contract and for a period of 3 years thereafter, in line with our internal audit retention policy.

If you want us to fully erase your data beyond these retention windows, contact support@dothatshi.com and we will assess your request against applicable Indian law and the obligations above.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss. These include encrypted data storage, secure HTTPS connections, access controls, and authentication safeguards.

However, no system can guarantee absolute security. You are also responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

10. Children's Privacy

Dothatshi is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect or process data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has registered an account, contact us immediately at support@dothatshi.com.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
